The long awaited announcement is finally here! So, this Kickstarter announcement may not come as a surprise to many of you, but it’s something we’ve been planning to do for quite some time now to help kick things into high gear and finish the game. Over the past year, we’ve been able to establish a basic idea of what Android Hunter A is, released a few alpha demos, and hinted at our vision for the future. The alpha version of the game was meant to serve as an early demo, built using quick prototyping tools within the Unreal Engine 4. We’re now focusing on creating our own gameplay system from the ground up to rectify all of the drawbacks (bugs) with the current system, and to properly implement all future gameplay features with pixel perfect accuracy. To do that quickly and efficiently, we need a bit of your help.

This announcement is coming first to all of our dedicated fans on Facebook, and we think many of you will agree that our idea of a next generation side-scroller shooter is pretty damn cool!

All of the details pertaining to the Kickstarter campaign won’t be listed here, but we’ll definitely cover some of the basics. A funding goal of 150k is what we estimate it will take to fully complete Android Hunter A with all of the features we’ve previewed in the past, and have planned for the future.

It’s no secret that Android Hunter A is inspired by the Megaman X series. The best way to describe what we’re trying to do would be to make a comparison to another one of our favorite genres, fighting games. In the same way that fighting games share basic similarities and improve their gameplay style through constant competition with each other, we’re trying to do something similar with the action-platformer genre.

Android Hunter A comes complete with many of its own unique features, implements next generation technology (including VR!) and is everything you’d expect from a Megaman X-inspired platformer shooter. Our goal is to build upon the core foundation of what makes a fun, action-oriented side-scroller shooter, without taking anything away from the underlying experience. The challenge is to find interesting ways to flesh out the gameplay in the next generation of gaming, and to use those concepts to take the experience to a whole new level. This is all without including the story of the game. Android Hunter A also features cinematic storytelling similar to modern (immersive) storytelling strategies prevalent in current fighting games. (Fighting games are a big influence for us) And of course, our biggest goal is simply to keep the game fun and enjoyable with tons of replayablity.

The Kickstarter page is detailed with extensive information pertaining to everything Android Hunter A has to offer so I’ll make this short and close with a few final words: Like many of you, all of us working on the game are big fans of the Megaman X series and are extremely passionate about this project. We share a core gameplay style and visual aesthetic, but at the same time, Android Hunter A is an independent entity with its own story to tell. If you like what you’ve seen so far and are interested in trying your luck for the third time, then look no further. Android Hunter A is the game for you.

Leave any questions you may have about the campaign or game below. We’ll try to answer as many as we can. 🙂

Today is the first time in seeing this game. I just say that I'm extremely excited about this and I will be backing very soon if I still can. I would LOVE to see this on consoles as well. Keep up the great work. :)
